The Volcanoes Hike | Chinyero Nature Reserve

The Chinyero Natural Reserve is home to some of the volcanoes that have erupted in recent centuries on the island of Tenerife. In this “Hiking between volcanoes” activity we will enjoy a tour of this area known as Dorsal de Abeque to contemplate the Trevejo Volcano and the Chinyero volcano.

Circular route trail in the Chinyero Natural Reserve. In this natural space you can see several of the last volcanoes to erupt on the island of Tenerife. Being able to visit the Trevejo volcano, which erupted in 1706 destroying part of the town and port of Garachico. The trail will give us the option of also visiting the Chinyero Volcano, the last protagonist in the volcanic history of Tenerife with its eruption in 1909. All this with privileged views of Teide during much of the route.

A trail with a circular route, lasting four hours and without major slopes, making it suitable for the general public.

  • Transportation from Garachico to the trailhead. And transfer to Garachico at the end of the route.

What to Bring

It is necessary to bring a coat, cap or hat, sports shoes and water. It is also advisable to bring a picnic or similar.

Important Information

It is necessary  appropriate clothing (sports shoes). If you do not come properly prepared, we will not be able to let you participate in the activity. In the event of bad weather conditions, we will offer the possibility of changing the date reservation or refunding the amount.

Meeting Point

Plaza de la Libertad, Garachico. We will take care of the transfer from Garachico to the starting point of the trail, in the Arenas Negras Recreational Area.
